Cotton Candy Ice Cream
Not much history here. My daughter came up with this idea when she was about 8 yrs. old. I have a added the option of Golden Oreos crumbled in there. We always add this. Kids and grown ups love it when we make it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups half-and-half cream
1 cup sugar
3-4 drops blue food dye
2 teaspoons cotton candy flavoring
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients together until the sugar is fully dissolved. Pour the mixture into the ice cream maker, filling it no more than two-thirds full, and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions. Keep any remaining mixture refrigerated until you're ready to freeze it. Serve immediately or transfer the ice cream to freezer-safe containers, leaving space for expansion. Freeze overnight.
Optional: (I always do this!) Crumble 1.5 cup Golden Oreos in ice cream after coming out of ice cream maker. Push to distribute with a spatula.
